HIS STORY: Mountain Man of Garhwal- The Man who Planted more than 50 Lakh trees himself.

It is really difficult to believe that a person can have so much affection and love to a tree.  

One such hero who devoted his whole life to the Mother Earth. One whose ascetic changed the whole valley into greenery. The story of a superhero, who started planting at the age of 8 and has so far planted more than 50 lakh trees. Can't believe?

Yes it is 50 Lakhs! 

This is really a mountain man who has prepared a huge forest with his hard work.

This is Vishweshwar Dutt Saklani, who is at the last step of his age. The eyes have been released. The only words that emerge from his tongue are about trees "Trees are my parents, they are my children, my close companions" 

Now imagine how much work Vishweshwar Dutt Sakalani had done in order to beat his Sakalana Valley. Born in Puzhar village, Vishweshwar Dutt Sakalani was born on June 2, 1922. Vishweshwar Dutt was fond of planting a tree since his childhood and he used to go and feed his grandfather in the forests. 

His life is also like Mountain Man Dasharath Manjhi who dug the entire mountain for a road. Like the Manjhi, A major change in the life of Saklani came when his wife Sharda Devi died.  After this incident in 1948, his attachment took place with trees and forests. The only purpose now was to plant trees.

Now imagine that who lost the light of his eyes for the mother earth. Despite his illness, his passion for planting in the forest did not diminish, then the body also left it. Now Deveshwar Dutt, who has been given the title of 'Vrikshamanav', live in his ancestral village. 

Now let's tell you how Vishweshwar Dutt Sakalani has changed the whole picture of the whole valley.  Actually about 60­-70 years ago, most of the area in this area was without a single tree. Slowly he began to plant bananas, burans, semal, bhimal and devdar trees. In the beginning, the villagers protested a lot and even beat him several times but the hero of this did not give up on his obsession and today the situation is that he has created an entire forest in more than 12 hectares of area.

Vishweshwar  Dutt Sakalani gave his entire life for the mountain.The elderly of Puzhar village tells that when his daughter was married and going to be a daughter-­in-­law At that time he

had gone to plant trees in the forest. His entire life was dedicated to afforestation.
